Meet our moderator and speakers

Adegoke Oke
Chair & Professor, Department of Supply Chain Management
W.P. Carey School of Business, Arizona State University

Adegoke Oke joined ASU in 2006. He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, an MBA from Cardiff Business School, Wales and a Ph.D. in Operations Management from Cranfield University’s School of Management, U.K. where he won the award for the best PhD and was also faculty for six years.

He is presently a professor of supply chain management and the Hal Fearon Distinguished Fellow at the W.P. Carey School of Business, Arizona State University, USA where he teaches courses in strategic procurement, technology and innovation management, operations management and global supply chain management. He is a world authority on innovation management and global supply chain management and his research focuses on innovation management practices in manufacturing, services and supply chain organizations. He is also interested in healthcare supply chains, risk management and supply chain disruptions, particularly those relating to developing country contexts.

Craig Carter
John G. Bebbling Professor in Business, Harold E. Fearon Fellow of Purchasing Management and Professor, Department of Supply Chain Management

Craig Carter is the John G. and Barbara A. Bebbling Professor of Supply Chain Management.  His primary research stream focuses on sustainable supply chain management.  This research stream encompasses ethical issues in buyer-supplier relationships, environmental supply management, diversity sourcing, perceptions of opportunism in supply chain relationships, and the broader, integrative concepts of social responsibility and sustainability.  A second and often intersecting area of research examines behavioral, decision making phenomena within supply management contexts.

Mahyar Eftekhar
Harold E. Fearon Fellow of Purchasing Management and Associate Professor

Mahyar Eftekhar is an Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management at the W. P. Carey School of Business. His research primarily focuses on nonprofit operations management, including health and humanitarian operations. His work has been published in esteemed journals such as Production and Operations Management, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and the Journal of Operations Management. He is also a Senior Editor for Production and Operations Management.

He has been honored with several awards, including the DARPA Young Faculty Award, DSI Outstanding Early Career Award, Buffa Outstanding Dissertation Award, and the POMS Humanitarian Operations & Crisis Management Best Paper Awards.
