Real-time Market Basket Price Indexing for Print Services
Valuable Insight into the Cost of Commonly Purchased Items
(TEMPE, Arizona) February 22, 2010 — Market basket price indexing reveals
differences and identifies potential areas of opportunity for organizations. CAPS
Research and a small group of Fortune 500 companies considered recommendations for
market basket price indexing and the following market baskets have been released
by CAPS Research: MRO Goods, Office Products, IT Goods & Services, and Print Services.
The 2010 Print Services Market Basket of Goods is the fourth Print Services report
posted to the CAPS Research website.
The 2010 report provides the average costs for 24 different print services jobs
identified as being small (up to 2,000 copies), medium (up to 25,000 copies), or
large (up to 20 million copies). Each of the 24 line items in the report has a unique
item description, and while at first glance some of the descriptions look the same,
there are differences throughout. The previous report mean data is also provided.
It's interesting to note that the organizations reported 21 of the 24 line items
cost less in 2010 than 2009.
