The CAPS Research Annual Report redefined the three "R's" during a retrospective look at the past year: We saw how procurement organizations "reacted" to the worst economic conditions in decades by reducing costs and maintaining margins; we provided them information as they "reset" their corporate strategies for risk mitigation, cost modeling, and leadership; and now we're a source of data as they continue planning for the "recovery."
Throughout this cycle CAPS Research provided knowledge that is critical in these dynamic times by gathering and disseminating benchmarking data, best practices observations, lessons learned, and thought-leader insights. As you prepare now for the recovery, you can continue to turn to us for your strategic supply information. Even in these days of retrenchment some of our sponsor organizations increased their level of financial support as a solid indicator of the value they receive from CAPS Research.
A summary of the information we provided in 2009 can be found in the twenty benchmarking reports published; the Critical Issues Partnerships events dedicated to supplier risk assessment; an Executive Roundtable that focused on strategies in turbulent times; and a Best Practices Workshop that looked at supply management in a transitioning economy. We published sixteen CPO Insights response documents to our CPO community that provided peer information on different topics including cost reduction, global contracts, demand management, and pandemic precautions.
